Mission
  1. We seek to be the pre-eminent private sector Labour-Sponsored Venture Capital organization in Saskatchewan by:
  1. Providing competitive financial and non-financial rewards for shareholders through investments in socially responsible Saskatchewan businesses;
  2. Maintaining continuity of local ownership, bolstering job growth, and modelling and fostering social responsibility in Saskatchewan businesses; and
  3. Fostering economic democracy by providing investment opportunities in the local economy for all Saskatchewan residents, broad based economic education, and ownership and participation opportunities for Saskatchewan workers.


Vision
FOR OUR SHAREHOLDERS AND THEIR INVESTMENT
  1. To create a large investor base with participation which reflects the full scope of the population demographics within the province (race, gender, geographic distribution, income), with particular focus on assuring participation by working people.
  2. To maintain regular, high quality communication, both proactive and reactive, with our shareholders and our distributors.
  3. To grow our capital base, from all sources, at a pace which assures that we remain the primary source of venture capital in Saskatchewan.
FOR OUR INVESTMENTS
  1. To generate returns which maintains our performance among the best of labour sponsored investment funds.
  2. To include "best of sector" companies within our portfolio, and to encourage all portfolio companies to strive to be "best of sector" on both financial and non-financial dimensions.
  3. To be among the national leaders in job creation per dollar invested in the Canadian venture capital industry.
  4. To be seen as a leader in providing additional value added services and opportunities to investee companies, in addition to capital.
  5. To be a catalyst in Saskatchewan for socially responsible investing by citizens, institutions and government.

  1. To be a catalyst for economic development throughout Saskatchewan.
  2. To increase the influence of our investors and workers on provincial economic development.
  3. To be an influential public commentator on economic and workplace issues affecting Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan residents.

FOR OUR LABOUR SPONSORS
  1. To educate labour leaders and members on the key strategic initiatives undertaken.
  2. To provide interested members from the labour movement with the opportunity to sell Fund shares, to develop expertise in understanding financial products and financial planning, and to understand financial practices which impact on their workplaces.
  3. To reach a saturation level of participation by union members in our shareholder base.
FOR OUR OWN WORKPLACE
  1. To model high quality workplace practices.
  2. To be entrepreneurial and innovative in all aspects of our operation.
  3. To create high quality jobs for employees which provide opportunities for career development and job enrichment, provide flexibility in balancing work and family needs, seek to create the highest possible level of "self-management" in jobs within an effective management structure and create an expectation in employees to share responsibility, be accountable and positively support organizational goals.
  4. To create a compensation system for employees which provides a living wage to all employees, compensates all positions at least at replacement value, creates a reasonable ratio of highest to lowest pay and establishes a fair and equitable internal ranking system with clear criteria.
