What is SaskWorks Venture Fund?
SaskWorks Venture Fund is a mutual fund. It is available only in Saskatchewan. Like any mutual fund, individual investors purchase shares in a professionally-managed pool of assets. Unlike mutual funds, there is a 35% tax credit in addition to the RRSP tax deferral.
The Fund is divided into two share classes: Diversified (Class A) and Resources (Class A-R). Investors can choose to place 100% of their investment into either class, or divide their investment by whatever allocation they wish.
SaskWorks Venture Fund uses its assets to invest in small and mid-sized Saskatchewan companies. Since its inception, the Fund has provided a unique opportunity for individual Saskatchewan residents to invest locally, keeping their investment dollars "at home," building companies and jobs in Saskatchewan.
